We don’t have the luxury in America to wait until the next election to correct course. We’re headed straight towards authoritarianism and a catastrophic loss of freedoms.
We must act now. And it starts with you!
I understand you might have some hesitations. . .
“I’m not an activist.”
Activism isn’t an all or nothing practice. Whether you’re a mom, an introvert, a CEO, an administrative assistant, or 25-year old trying to figure out what to do with your life—YOU have something to contribute.
By force of circumstances, activism is now for everyone.
“I’m busy.”
I get it. You have bills to pay and a family to feed.
But how much time do you spend endlessly scrolling—checking the news, watching cat videos, and getting triggered by headlines about Elon Musk?
Even you—the busy everyday American—can still get involved in activism without it feeling like a part-time job. One small action step every week is the minimum bar.
“It doesn’t matter what I do. I can’t single-handedly stop a dictatorship.”
No one is asking you to do that. The MAGA administration wants you to feel helpless, and as long as you cave in to their agenda to debilitate you, they win. The collective helplessness will be our downfall.
It’s time you learn how to overcome your own helplessness by taking action.
“I’m so triggered by what’s happening. I feel comatose, and I end up doing nothing.”
Radical self care is now a requirement. It’s not optional, because we can’t afford to let you slip into despair and defeat.
I have written about how to work through difficult emotions, choose joy, and get your shit together. Read and take note.
Remember that this is a marathon, not a sprint. Focus on small actionable steps that are within your capacity. This will build momentum.
“I don’t know WHAT to do.”
Neither did I, until recently. After the 2024 election, I started asking myself, “What can I do to help?” I didn’t have any answers. I looked around and saw hoards of other people feeling the same way. Cue the collective despair.
I attended my local town hall in March 2025, and when folks asked our elected representative what we could do, he gave us nothing. Literally zilch. That’s when I realized—we can’t rely on our elected officials to tell us what to do. In fact, we need to tell them what to do.
That’s why I put together a list of ways to get involved for people just like you.
And even though you may have no background in activism, it doesn’t take a genius or a Social Justice major to play an important part. Everyone starts from zero, and now is your time.
Let’s get scrappy.
Let’s demand better.
Let’s make activism normal.
